Description didn’t say that this cannot be used on smooth ceramic cooktops, so I didn’t find that out until I opened the box and read it on the pot’s label. Disappointed in the description provided, but shipping was quick and the return was simple with a speedy refund.

I bought this kit so I could more easily make Pepper Jelly. The kit made it easier to do the whole process. The tools really helped in the handling of hot jars and lids. The only problem I had was in heating the smaller jars (4oz and 8 oz). The basket (which is essential to the process) was designed to hold the larger jars (1 pint to 1 qt).

Overall, I really like the kit and I am planning to can some vegetables and some home made salsa in larger jars.

Really good to have all the canning supplies in one place. I haven’t used the blancher yet, but already canned 2 batches of applesauce.

Received the item on time. It fit into my pressure cooker quiet tight. However, when I tried to use my cooker the seal was no good, therefore I had no pressure 🙁 Not sure if the item worked or not, but I would buy again.

I have a stove with heating grills and parts that are all removable to clean. But underneath all this is a metal platform that has collected all kinds of food.

If you know what Im talking about helpp! I have already taken off the stove tops now I need to get all this food out but it seems impossible!

  • Erin Mcdermott says:

I accidentally dropped a plastic Tupperware container on a hot electric stove top burner. The plastic melted instantly and is now stuck – molded onto the black metal grate. I’ve tried scraping it off, to no avail. Ideas anyone?

  • Grazielle Pellicel says:

We got new countertops installed. It’s light colored granite and everytime a small drop of water ‘hits’ it, it gets absorbed into the granite and leaves a dark spot, which dries later. It’s not like I don’t wipe off water spills, but I don’t think granite is supposed to absorb water this fast. This leads me to thinking that granite has not been sealed. Do you think it’s true?

  • Drew says:

If used only once, and not cooled or heated, do any dioxins or other nasty toxins or chemicals leech off of plastic ware and plastic cups into food or drinks? Are they safe to eat and drink from?

  • Bruce Glen says:

Considering that I use a warm air oil furnace to heat my house, and that it’s the most expensive fuel to use, and that electricity is among the cheapest, does it make sense to use my electric stove top to supplement my oil furnace? That is of course assuming that we take all precautions to not burn anything.
So, is my stove more energy efficient than my furnace?
Thanks to ALL for good, fast (and safe) answers. I kinda knew it wasn’t a good idea, but thought I’d ask. So thank you all again.
