I will be hiking and camping in Yosemite National Park come July 4th. I do not have, nor am I going to buy an expensive filter to clean the river water there.

My question is: I have read up on Potable Aqua and Katadyn Micropur pills/tablets and want to know which pills are best for us? I know Potable Aqua leaves a weird taste behind, but that can be cured with crystal light or gatorade. I am skeptical of Potable Aqua because it doesn’t treat protozoa cryptosporidia, nor are they intended for use against viruses!!
This scares me, but are protozoa crysptosporidia and viruses in the rivers water in Yosemite? Perhaps they don’t apply there?

For the Katadyn Micropur, it Destroys viruses and bacteria in 15 minutes, Giardia in 30 minutes and Cryptosporidia in four hours. So basically, my wife and I would have to wait 4 HOURS to drink the water to make sure that the Cryptosporidia is killed? To me, this sounds like an awefully long time to wait to drink water?

    Please help us out.

I have seen many videos on it, but here in Florida water is everywhere… I also do not live in far middle of no where, but city and busy street everywhere. So…. not sure if I would need one? If so, what kind? I am into safe / natural as possible of course, I do not like too much chemicals, but what do I know.

I was looking at the potable aqua iodine tablets and 50 come per bottle and 2 are need to treat 1 quart of water.
I heard that the iodine tablets are better than the chlorine because you can buy them with taste neutralizers.
    Thanks

The singers in the band Aqua have very good English diction and articulatio, especially the female lead vocalist Lene Nystrom Rasted even though English is not their 1st language, i think. I wonder what backgrounds and education they have and how they learned English so well. Please discuss and give your opinions. Thanks!

We put a new potable water hose on our travel trailers fresh water supply. We have flushed the system several times but still get a foul taste. Water through a regular rubber garden hose from sears tastes better. Can we remedy this or must we replace with another brand?
